Jaden and Josh, Saskatchewan cattle farmers and new parents, love travel and adventure.
Fittingly, on November 18, 2025, they traded tradition for something far more meaningful: a just-the-two-of-them elopement in Banff National Park.
Used to early mornings and life outdoors, they brought an amazing energy and spirit to their wedding. And despite a wet, cold start to the day, their Lake Minnewanka elopement unfolded beautifully.
A November Wedding in Banff
Late fall in Banff can be unpredictable. Snow one minute, rain the next. And on Jaden and Josh’s wedding day, it was both.
Like many couples having an outdoor wedding, Jaden felt those pre-ceremony nerves when the weather didn’t look promising early on. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned after planning hundreds of elopements, it’s that the mountains (and our curated local network of vendors) always come through.
Jaden and Josh trusted the process completely, and it paid off.
By the time they stood together at their Lake Minnewanka wedding ceremony, the lake was the calmest we’ve ever seen it, and the last vestiges of the morning’s moody weather lent their photos an atmospheric, editorial vibe.

Why Lake Minnewanka Is One of the Best Wedding Venues in Banff National Park
For couples researching wedding venues in Banff National Park, Lake Minnewanka offers something special.
As Banff’s largest lake, the expanse of glacial water is surrounded by towering mountains and forests. Though it feels removed, it’s only about a 10-minute drive from the Banff townsite.
Because it’s jaw-droppingly gorgeous and easy to access, Lake Minnewanka gets crowded in summer, and parking is limited. That’s why, as part of our Signature Banff Elopement Package, this location is only available for mid-week, low-season elopements, or just for photos.
For Jaden and Josh’s off-season ceremony, it was the perfect setting, and there were very few people around.
That’s the beauty of a Banff elopement like this. It’s just the two of you, your vows, and the landscape.
An Intimate, Unforgettable Experience

Jaden and Josh chose to elope without guests, which made the day feel deeply personal.
Because there wasn’t a traditional bridal party, Christianne (their planner and coordinator) stepped in to help Jaden into her dress. This paved the way for one of the day’s most meaningful moments, the first look.
It’s these small, thoughtful touches that define the experience.
As Jaden shared:
“From start to finish, Elope in Banff made everything effortless, intimate, and so incredibly meaningful…Every detail was handled with care, allowing us to be fully present and soak in every moment together.”
A True Banff Elopement
Jaden and Josh chose the Signature Elope in Banff Package, one of our most popular options. It’s ideal for couples who want something simple, elevated, and fully taken care of.
The couple’s wedding team included:
- Photography by Simon
- Planning + coordination by Christianne
- Hair & makeup by Styled by Steph Beauty Bar
- Florals by Banff Mountaintop Flowers
- Officiant Carl Shields
Every detail was handled, so they could focus on what actually mattered: each other.
And that energy? You can feel it in every one of their Lake Minnewanka wedding photos.
A Wedding Ceremony That Felt Completely Them

The Elope in Banff team really connected with Jaden and Josh. They were the kindest, most genuine people, and we had so much fun being part of their celebration.
Their wedding was a true collaboration. The couple came in with a clear sense of style (the bride’s boots 🤩), thoughtful touches, and a color scheme.
Our role was to bring their vision to life in a way that felt effortless, so they could stay in their wedding bubble and enjoy every moment.
As Jaden put it:
“Standing beside Lake Minnewanka, surrounded by nature, with zero stress and all the love; that’s a gift we’ll cherish forever.”

Thinking About a Lake Minnewanka Elopement?
If you’re dreaming about a Lake Minnewanka wedding or exploring Banff elopement packages, Jaden and Josh’s elopement is a beautiful reflection of what’s possible.
Forgoing a big ceremony and reception in favor of something more intimate and experience-driven makes for a wedding day that feels relaxed and true to you.
In a place like Banff, that often means quieter moments, meaningful connection, and a setting that doesn’t need anything added to feel absolutely magical.
